Currently, we offer training in using ACT within the area of perinatal mental health by facilitators who are both trained in ACT and using ACT both personally and professionally. This includes both one-off initial training, and a continuing development ‘train the trainer’ programme. The training has been evaluated since 2021, showing significantly increased knowledge and understanding of using ACT within the area of perinatal mental health in healthcare professionals. Additionally, the evaluation showed increased psychological flexibility in healthcare professionals who undertook the training.
We also offer one-off power hour training which focus on different elements of ACT, and how these can be applied to parents within the perinatal period. These include using values with parents and working with parental guilt from an ACT perspective. The aim of these sessions are to build confidence in applying ACT, gaining some new skills or tools and sharing learning.
